Trust and transparency
Editorial standards
How EmEgypt verifies information, labels uncertainty, handles sources and separates reporting from opinion.
Accuracy before speed
We seek primary documents, direct observation and named sources. We attribute claims, distinguish reporting from analysis and do not present online popularity as verification.
Anonymous sources
Anonymous sourcing is reserved for information in the public interest when a source faces a credible risk. Editors must know the source’s identity, understand the source’s access to the information and seek independent confirmation.
AI and synthetic media
We do not use generative systems to invent facts, quotations, witnesses or documentary evidence. Suspected synthetic media is labelled and checked against provenance, original files and independent sources.
Evergreen coverage
Our evergreen guides focus on durable concepts, evidence and long-term implications. We update pages when meaningful new information changes the reader’s understanding of a subject.
